This piece is acually poster size , my take on it is that it reflects a point on the continuum of anorexia because the pink lady actually looks serene or at least stable, she is obviously harassed by anorexias voice but has achieved some sort of steady state where she has stripped him of much of his power, he even looks cartoonish. But i think the tiny skeletal figure is quite powerless and represents the fact that the pink lady has vulnerability to anorexias voice and still has to be vigilant about keeping an eye and ear out for his tricks. I believe there is a larger range then just “being anorexic” or not. Anorexia issues probably go from from mortal combat to the annoying and tiring negativity of this voice. In the background but hard to see are some ads from beauty magazines, anorexia has amazing P.R.!
